Flysview app

Designed a new video-sharing app

Share videos through multiple angles.

The viewer can tap on any video angle they want to see to bring it into the main screen. Fasetto’s CEO came up with this multi-angle video app idea to show Fasetto’s patented technology capabilities, and I acted as both Product Manager and Product Design Lead in designing and making it ready for QA and development. It was a very minimal setup.

We faced 3 major challenges

1 – Oversaturated market

The video app market is saturated in this area, so we needed to be sure to stand out.

2 – Tight timeline

We also needed a hosting site for users to have accounts and livestream. Since our timeline was very short, it would be difficult for the developers and me to design both simultaneously.

3-No branding

We did not have branding for Flysview, so I quickly needed to create a logo and a simple style guide.

Opportunity

How might we disrupt the multi-angle video market with an exciting, accessible video recording and viewing experience?

Solutions

1 – User-focused experience

At every opportunity, with rapid testing along the way, I designed the app to be as dynamic and easy to use as possible.

2 – Delegation

Because of our time limitations, the majority of the web design was implemented by our front-end developers. This freed up our app developers and me to focus on the main video recording experience.

3-The Flysview brand

I quickly designed a logo and style guide for the app and website.

Keeping the momentum

I initially created user flows with scaffolding for the developers to get started on the backend framework of the app so we could meet our deadline for presenting the app to our biggest investor, Samsung.

Outcome

As a result of Flysview and another app I designed, Fasetto received its first licensing deal with Samsung.
